After seven years on WBGG (970), Joe Bendel was let go from the station on Monday. Bob Smizik reports that the 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. slot will be taken over by David Todd. Recently, Todd has been hosting the 2:00 -4:00 slot. The move is not necessarily a cost-cutting measure as much as it is a simple change in programming

970 used to carry Fox Sports, but switched to ESPN after 1250 WEAE switched to Radio Disney. WBGG is plagued with a “weak” 5000 watt daytime signal which is heavily pushed to the Southeast from its Ross Township towers to protect Media One’s WFUN (also on 970; also ESPN) in Ashtabula, Ohio.
