Leaf gone from KDKA-AM; Boylan returns soon

Pittsburgh: In what's being described as a "restructuring of the station's news coverage" KDKA-AM (1020) has let reporter Maria Leaf go. No other airstaff was affected. Leaf had been with the station for three years. Meanwhile, reporter Barbara Boylan should return later this month after an extensive medical leave. (PG)

Maria Leaf kind of sounded snitty when she did field reports. Kind of like Shannon Leheer (pardon me, I’m sure I mispelled it) or, 10 years before, Susan Shiffer. I hope Leaf loosens up at new next job.

I dealt with Ms. Leaf during a news story that I saw unfold in front of me. To say she was unprofessional would be an extreme understatement. I’d never been treated by anybody so rudely in my life. Good riddance, Maria.

Frank, you must of caught her on a bad day or something. She was a doll when interviewing me for a story. She showed nothing but class and was patient because I was nervous talking to the media. She asked good, fair questions and she helped me get results.
