Stockey back to sports... although not entirely...
Pittsburgh:Get your score cards out! Beginning September 12, the WTAE-TV (4) line-up changes yet again. Andrew Stockey will return to the sports desk part time while remaining an anchor. Stockey and Wendy Bell will remain the 5:00 p.m. anchors with Mike Clark taking over for Stockey at 6:00 and 11:00 p.m. During the latter newscasts Stockey will anchor sports. Clark and Stockey traded rolls a few years ago with Stockey taking evenings and Clark taking mornings. The move means that Michelle Wright, who in recent years has been taking over the 6:00 p.m. spot for Bell, will anchor the early morning news with Kelly Frey. Current weekend sports anchor John Meyer will contribute regularly to the morning show. Guy Junker will then handle weekend sports reports.
Readers’ Forum
Please don’t tell me WTAE-TV is going to treat Guy Junker the way it treated Stephen Cropper. Junker is too talented to deserve what he went through before he arrived at WTAE, let alone what he’s putting up with now.

Does the news director at WTAE ever consider that the reason why ratings may be sagging is because she can’t let a lineup gel long enough for people to become familiar with it? Lineups are changed way too often on WTAE. WTAE’s staff has the talent, the news director just has no idea what to do with that talent. As I have stated before on comments pertaining to WTAE, their news director must go.
