National News: It could be a sucky period of time for engineers in the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area today. Early Sunday morning, an ice build up caused the 823-foot tower of WNEP (TV 16) to collapse from the heavy weight. As it fell, a guy wire took out a portion of the next tower which belongs to WVIA-TV and FM. Both towers are on Penobscot Mountain. To make matters worse, the WNEP tower fell on the transmitter building taking out much of the equipment - including BOTH of the analog transmitters.
