Paulsen ready for 1250
Pittsburgh:What are Scott Paulsen's thoughts on the former "MAN Station"? "R.I.P. and good riddance," he told fellow Observer-Reporter writer Terry Hazlett. Paulsen says he's been trying to create a "creative and popular" afternoon program for about seven years but has been hampered by several factors including management and his own doing that he couldn't really make that happen. He also admits that the creativity has been all but taken out of music radio, but it is flourishing in talk radio which he's been attracted to since the mid-90s.
He has learned something after the situation with the former WTZN. "I'm in no hurry," he tells the O-R, "If there's anything I learned during the last fiasco, it was to look extremely carefully before you leap, and to, above all, take everything a corporate radio executive tells you with a huge grain of salt."

This doesn’t have to be printed, but I didn’t know how to get in contact with you….What is going on at KDKA.....Marty is out all of a sudden on vacation…..The guy that fills in on Monday says he will be doing the show through Thursday and all of a sudden on Tuesday Thor Tolo is on…..?
What happened…....?

Yeah, and Thor Tolo claimed to be “regional and relevant,” yet he was being piped in from Seattle . . . and Honzman is still out with K. Miller pulling double duty . . . KDKA seems to be in a tailspin.

KDKA has to bring back Mike Pintek in the morning. Actually Steigerwald is pretty good in the 6 PM slot.
I would put Bill O’Reilly on live in the afternoon and move K.Miller to 9-12, and get a live local person from midnight to 6 AM.
I’m not suggesting K.Miller in the evening because I don’t think he is any good. John Cigna worked those hours for years, and I think it’s a good local time slot for political talk.
In the past KDKA was always been heads and shoulders above all competition. Unfortunately somewhere along the line, KDKA changed and tried to be like the others, and now their dropping…
KD….move back to your roots which made you great…The in your face format is failing…

I gotta say “NO” to Bill O’Reilly in the afternoon slot. That was tried before (as was Rush Limbaugh remember?)and I didn’t care for it. Keep the local talkers and put the out-of-towners (Yes, including Dennis Miller, he’s no Pittsburgher in my opinion) in the Undercover Club spot while most of us are asleep.
Pintek, Steigerwald, Paulsen would be a great morning/afternoon lineup to me.
