Bohannon to KDKA slot
Pittsburgh:McKeesport Daily News' Pat Cloonan (sorry, not online) reports Jim Bohannon will fill the 10pm - 1am slot on KDKA-AM (1020) beginning Monday, March 2. Bohannon's show replaces Bill O'Reilly's program as O'Reilly goes off radio to do more work for Fox News. The addition of the program also means that all of KDKA's time slots will be live - whether local or syndicated.
Bohannon is a 35-year veteran of the airwaves and is carried by Westwood One.

KDKA would do better if they would broadcast the show actually taking the place of O’Reilly – that being Fred Thompson’s radio program. I’d personally much rather listen to the former Senator than Bohannon. Bohannon was on one time before and it was quite boring to me. Oh well. I won’t be listening to KDKA between the hours of 10 p.m. and 1 a.m.

Eh, what does it matter? Everyone on KDKKKA speaks with one voice these days anyways. Call me when they actually try to get some diversity of views.

On more than one occasion Honsberger comes on contradicting something Marty Griffin has touted on his “you have an investigative reporter on your side” show. “Pintek Tonight” isn’t a carbon copy of the noon-to-3 show. And having Bohannon and that overnight show from St. Louis means the station isn’t catering solely to those right of center (which will save some necks there if a “fairness doctrine” re-emerges).
I might add that the morning drive and afternoon drive news shows also have their own flavors and what local shows happen on the weekend aren’t in the Rush-wannabe category, either. Dimitri is clearly libertarian (which isn’t the same as radical right by any means) and Chris Moore is hardly what I would call the president of the Fred Honsberger Fan Club.
