Paul Harvey dies at 90
National News:He was once known as the most listened to man in radio and now his voice is silenced. Paul Harvey passed away today at the age of 90 at a hospital near his winter home in Phoenix, Arizona. Harvey's death comes 9 months after the death of his wife and business partner, Lynne Cooper Harvey according to ABC News.
He began his more than 70 years on the air by helping out at a local radio station when he was a teenager. Harvey's claim to fame, however, were the programs "News & Comment" and "Rest of the Story" which millions of Americans were able to hear on 1350 commercial stations and 400 Armed Forces Radio Service stations. He was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame in 1990.
"...and now YOU know the Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrest of the Story!"

Not having lived in “da Burgh” for a long time, what station was carrying Paul’s news segments and “Rest of the Story” segments in recent years? Years ago, WTAE was the local station. IIRC, didn’t WPGB 104.7 carry Paul for a while?

I believe WBVP 1230 in Beaver Falls continued to carry Harvey after WPGB dropped him.

Harvey, on one hand, was witty and eloquent. He was also out of touch.

That was the rest of his story. Good day.

The radio world will never be the same without Paul.
I usually picked up his shows on 97.9 WKKW out of Fairmont, WV & 1440 WAJR out of Morgantown, WV.
I can’t see how RICK sees Paul as “out of touch”.
In this day & age of radio’s so-called talent, Harvey always stayed the same in his delivery of the news.
It was always nice to hear the nice news items he would use, in addition to the daily local items.
I think all of today’s news readers should take a serious look at how they do their job.
Paul will be sadly missed.
