Health problems have apparently caused broadcaster Eddie Edwards to withdraw his application to buy WPYT-AM (660). His son, Eddie Edwards, Jr. tells the Post-Gazette that the veteran broadcaster was recently hospitalized and under the care of a physician. The senior Edwards announced his plans to buy the station and create a format which was recently vacated when WAMO-AM was sold to St. Joseph Missions. Langer Broadcasting had agreed to sell WPYT for $500,000 and the sale was pending FCC approval.
