Erie Times-News to be printed in Butler

According to Joel Natalie’s Press & Tower blog, the Times Publishing Company is in final negotiations with “The Butler Eagle” in Butler (Butler county) to become the official printer of “The Erie Times-News.” This comes after news of the Times Publishing Company shutting down their presses later this year due to the millions it would cost to upgrade the presses. Just in case you were wondering, Butler county is much closer to Pittsburgh & Youngstown than it is to Erie. This move could be very bad especially in harsh Winter weather when it may be impossible to get the paper deliveries from Butler to Erie on time. A lot of people may forgo the paper subscription for the website www.goerie.com if they do not get the paper itself for several days due to Lake Effect Snow, etc. Could the ETN be putting itself out of business with this move? Let us know what you think.
