In Memoriam: Doug Sutherland

May 1, 2017 Off By Eric O'Brien

We are hearing that Doug Sutherland has passed away. Sutherland held a brief stop in Pittsburgh in the late 1970s at WFFM (96.9 Braddock) where he co-hosted “Morning Magazine” with Sharon Kennedy. Sutherland submitted his resignation in mid-1980. That led to Kennedy and mid-day host George Hart being let go as management decided to make programming changes. Sutherland moved on to WABC in New York from WFFM. He worked at various other stations as “Doug Cornet”. He was also “Rabbit” having written and recorded Rabbit Tracks a daily, 2-minute feature for Northern Broadcasting System which aired on 200 stations in the west. He also wrote a syndicated, satirical newspaper column called Minister of Reality.
