She was a native of Monongahela and a graduate of Point Park College. Starting her career at WESA Radio in Charleroi, Kerestes was probably best known as the morning news anchor at WTAE-AM 1250. The majority of which was during the O’Brien and Garry morning show where she was affectionately known as “Mon Valley Minnie”. She also served as a weekend reporter for WTAE-TV during her 12 years working at Ardmore Blvd. She later moved on to become the Director of Media and Community Relations at Carlow College. There she developed the “Women of Spirit” program. She also served on several boards and committees throughout the region.
