In Memory: Ray Walker
August 7, 2016We were surprised to learn from a Post-Gazette report that Ray Walker has died. The cause is unknown, but it was said that Walker suffered from several illnesses including Crohn’s Disease. Once known for his work at WWSW (94.5), Walker (whose real last name is Weitzel) had most recently been the executive producer for Pittsburgh Penguins broadcasts. Ray is survived by his wife, Sheri Van Dyke, who continues to work middays at WWSW.
I worked with Ray in the late 80’s. He was a fabulous person, always smiling. Easy to have a crush on him. So sad for him to be gone so soon.
