Jim Griffey celebrates 20 years on Robison Road

It seems like you cannot put the words “longevity” and “radio career” in the same sentence these days. With so much turnover, it’s great to hear that there is an exception, and well known to many of us as well. It was 20 years ago today (Hmmm, sounds like a song I’ve heard before) that a true radio professional made the move from 1946 West 26th Street where the former K-104 and WEYZ once resided to 471 Robison Road West. It is another well known address to media nuts like me to where two other radio stations were ard still are to this day. Back then, it was the home of Classy 100 and AM 1260. Jim would go there with his great production skills as well as pipes and begin a 20 year ride which would survive several ownership changes and two additional stations added to the mix, Country 98 and Z-102.3. Jim would bring his former “K-104” Alter Ego “JJ Sanford” with him to once again grace the “Z-102.3” airwaves while Jim Griffey takes the mic at Country 98. Jim is a class act in the business as well as a friend we would like to congratulate and wish him many more years at “The right place at the right time.”
