Koeppen off air; health reasons cited

Susan Koeppen started anchoring the 6:00 and 11:00 p.m. newscasts at KDKA-TV (2) in September. She hasn’t been on the air the last day or so and that is unusual because of the sweeps ratings period. Although details are sketchy, the Post-Gazette believes that Koeppen is dealing with some health issues.
An update this evening in the PG notes that Ms. Koeppen had collapsed during a run on Sunday Morning. It is believed that it is due to a pre-existing heart valve issue.
