Mark Dailey passes

This is from just across the border but I know many of us who would watch City TV across the lake on channel 31. It is a translator for the main Toronto station in Woodstock, Ontario. You would hear a great set of pipes with promos that were very unique and added something special to the independent station. Mark Dailey was that voice that was also on CityNews and of course, a part of “The Big 8” CKLW 800 in its heyday before he moved to Toronto in 1974 and joined CHUM and later City TV in 1979. He just celebrated his 30th anniversary with City in 2009. Mark was born in Youngstown, Ohio and attended Youngstown State University to study Law Enforcement. He would become a police officer and later became a crime reporter for some Youngstown area stations & then got his big break in Detroit. He announced recently on City that he had kidney cancer and would pass away from lung cancer at the much too young age of 57.
