770am comes through nice and clear in Steubenville on my car radio. The music mix is indeed a 1250 WTAE flash back however I’m still hearing some Quackery during the day. I hope they stick to the music format, however I know those “Good Doctors” pay the bills! (December 30, 2003)
Hello, I picked up 770 AM WKTW today (12/27/03 SAT) on the way home. I was on Route 30 heading towards Pittsburgh near the former Greengate Mall. I listened all the way in to the South Hills of Pittsburgh. They played music from the seventies all afternoon with only brief breaks from announcers that I believe are also on 620 AM possibly. Excellent signal even on radios around my home. I was surprised because I didn’t think they would be on 770 until the Spring. Bob (December 27, 2003)
Hiya Eric: Because I’m a frequent visitor and want your website to be letter perfect, I’m writing this to correct your spelling. Jeannette is spelled with 2 n’s. It’s a common mistake. Caroline from Jeannette (December 26, 2003)
Eric’s Response: Thank you. I did the opposite to Canonsburg a few years ago…
HELLO. I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO FIND THE WHEREABOUTS OF TERRY LEE..THE DJ FROM THE EARLY 70′S WHO WORKED AT 1360 WIXZ..I THINK HIS REAL NAME WAS TERRY TRUNZO..I REMEMBER HIS MUSIC FOR YOUNG LOVERS AND MET HIM WHEN MY BAND PLAYED AT VARIOUS VENUES BACK THEN…IS THE MAN EVEN ALIVE??..IT SEEMS LIKE HE FELL FROM THE FACE OF THE EARTH! THANKS…JIM STRINGER (December 24, 2003)
Eric’s Response: This is one of our most frequently asked questions. The answer is…no one really knows for sure. Is he in Ohio? Is he on a farm? Those are speculations…but only speculations!
Hi Eric, is there a picture on the internet anywhere that i can show my wife of Paul Shannon in character as “Nosmo King” from his show many years ago called “Adventure Time with Paul Shannon”? Thanking You ahead of time for any help you can give me in finding a pictire of Paul as “Nosmo”. Dan Caligiuri (December 21, 2003)
Is Don Cannon still with KDKA? I haven’t seen him lately on the weekends. (December 21, 2003)
Eric’s Response: I believe he is still there.
Do not expect to get a response from the “management” at WPGB unless you’re purchasing air time, printing their press release verbatim, or filing a challenge to their license. Contrary to recent reports, all the talent has been chosen, and the key decisions made. (December 19, 2003)
Now that CC is selling the station to Keymarket, what do you see the format being? 80s, Smooth Jazz, or is it just another lilly pad for another ribboting Froggy station? (December 19, 2003)
To whom it may concern: Prior to this morning, I was a frequent listener to 3WS. I do enjoy the Christmas music. However, thy played this song to the tune of Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire that described in revolting detail killing and roasting squirrels. You must be really sick to think that is even remotely cute. Imagine explaining this to children when it says they put hot pokers up there noses. You must feel that your audience has no brains because you certainly don’t have any putting this on the radio. You won’t have to worry about hearing from me again since I will not be hearing you again. Cheryl P. Pittsuburgh, PA (December 19, 2003)
Eric’s Response: Well Cheryl P. of Pittsuburgh, PA, it looks like you have missent some directed anger my way. I would imagine that most children have heard “Chipmonks Roasting on an Open Fire” by now anyway…so there is probably very little explaining to do. Do children even know what a radio is?
Eric or whoever, Any idea how to contact “management” at WPGB? Try WJJJ? or are there new studios? Jeff Bussard Moon Township (December 18, 2003)
Eric’s Response: Try WJJJ. The station is not moving so far as I know. It’s just changing formats.
Hey am I imagining things or does WPXI have Newlan Archinal’s news stories taped for the 11pm news? The items jump from David Johnson to Newlan so fast and there is never any kind of chat between them when there’s a break in the stories. I figured if Newland has to do the early morning news, maybe she tapes her segments earlier in the evening so she can get some rest. Does this seem to make any sense or am I imagining things? John in Connellsville (December 18, 2003)
Thanks for a great website! Alexander D. Panormios President Red Zone Media, Inc. (December 17, 2003)
Just wanted to thank you for putting Christmas music on wyzz 100.3 fm. The past years there has been no such music until Christmas eve. Thanks again Merry Christmas Anna M. (December 4, 2003)
Eric’s Response: Um….ok…you’re welcome. I had nothing to do with it…but you’re welcome!
