Mowod opts out of job offer

Tony Mowod – a fixture of WDUQ for the last 23 years – has opted out of a new position he was offered with the new 90.5 FM. “I felt it was best for me not to take the offer” he told the Post-Gazette. Therefore he will retire from radio but will remain a part of Duquesne University as an adjunct professor in the music department and advocate jazz music through The Pittsburgh Jazz Society which he founded two decades ago.

Mowod is not the only one to retire. Several others opted to do the same or not to apply for positions with Essential Public Media.
