Papa Joe Chevalier dies

Pittsburgh native Armand “Papa Joe” Chevalier passed away Friday after a suffering complications of a stroke. He was 62. Chevalier made his name known in Las Vegas before moving to Chicago where he was nationally syndicated on the Sporting News Radio Network until 2005.

Chevalier suffered a stroke in March resulting in paralysis in his right side. However speech and cognative processes were not affected. Family members felt that “Papa Joe” had grown despondent over his health situation and the rehabilitation necessary to recover.
