Phillips returning to WTOV

Bill Phillips is leaving WPXI-TV (11 Pittsburgh) to return to WTOV-TV (9 Steubenville) to anchor the station’s 5:00 – 8:00 a.m. and noon newscasts along side Jessica Haberley. His new role begins Tuesday, January 3. Phillips left WTOV fifteen years ago to join then-sister station WPXI as a sports anchor, but he and his family continued to reside in the Ohio Valley. He had served at WTOV as sports director from 1991 until 2002.
I will miss Bill Phillips. Really liked his work!!!
Following in the footsteps of the late Red Donley, who also started out as a sports guy on
Channel 9, came to Pittsburgh to do sports on Channel 11, and then returned to Steubenville
to finish his career as a news anchor.
