Rich Walsh suing agrichemical companies

November 18, 2015 Off By Eric O'Brien

KDKA-TV (2) sports reporter Rich Walsh is suing companies such as Monsanto, Syngenta, Bayer and others claiming that exposure to their pesticides is what caused his father’s death 7 years ago.

Walsh’s father spent 38 years as a greenskeeper on a local golf course. One day Thomas Walsh checked into West Penn Hospital thinking he had pneumonia. But doctors diagnosed him with leukemia after discovering altered chromosomes and linking it to chemical exposure. Mr. Walsh kept meticulous records of every chemical he used over the years he kept grounds.

The lawsuit is claimed to be a long shot, since proving the chemicals caused the leukemia is nearly impossible. But Walsh intends to do battle.

The case has caught the attention of Facebook group GMO Free USA.
