The #Rickstarter campaign that you’ve seen all over the Internet is a project of WQED and Rick Sebak that begins Monday, March 27 and runs through April 25. This is a modern effort to raise funds to produce Sebak’s latest project – six 30-minute episodes of “NEBBY: Rick Sebak’s Tales of Greater Pittsburgh.” There will be 9 donation levels beginning at $13. Each donation level will have a prize associated with it. While seed money has been planted by The Buhl Foundation, it wasn’t enough to cover the entire cost of producing six episodes and the rule has typically been not to start a project unless the money was all there. The funder starts on Kickstarter at 12:01 a.m. Monday and a kick-off program will air at 7:30 p.m. on WQED.
