ppm_logo_golda smallThe FCC has approved the sale of WVBC-FM (88.1) from Bethany College to Pittsburgh Public Media. The sale price is disclosed at $135,000 paid for by money raised through listeners of PPM’s PIttsburgh Jazz Channel and other supporters. PPM president Chuck Leavens tells the Post-Gazette that he would like to get the new station on the air as soon as possible. That could be as soon as April depending on how fast a studio can be built. An additional $100,000 is being raised for construction.
