We are hearing that Sam Nicotero has died. Sam spent 40 years in the radio business – among them doing mornings at WJAS prior to Jack Wheeler’s arrival. He also operated The Video Stop rental on McKnight Road in the North Hills. Both were followed by a stage and screen career right here in Pittsburgh. Nicotero’s son, Frank posted the news to Sam’s Facebook page Monday afternoon. Sam was 75.

    Sam Nicotero was (and still is) one of Pittsburgh’s best personalities ever. R.I.P. Sam Nicotero.
