Sinclair to Buy Tribune
May 8, 2017Hunt Valley, Maryland-based Sinclair Broadcast Group is set to purchase Chicago-based Tribune Media for $3.9 Billion so reports the Post-Gazette. Locally Sinclair owns WPGH (53) and WPNT (22), as well as nearby stations WJAC (6 Johnstown) and WTOV (9 Steubenville). With Sinclair’s 173 stations and Tribune’s 42 (including flagship WGN), it would create the largest TV entity in the country.
