Removing the tongue from my cheek, last week Sally Wiggin celebrated 35 years with the station. Today though, Andrew Stockey is celebrating 20 years since his start date. Stockey revealed the news on his Facebook page last week saying that when he arrived in Pittsburgh and WTAE that he figured his stay would be brief – especially since the critics were “less than impressed”. Now that he’s been here 20 years, he has lived in Pittsburgh longer than anywhere else. When he first started at WTAE, Stockey served as a sports anchor, later becoming a regular news anchor. Now he serves as both an anchor during the 5:00 p.m. newscast and as sports director and donning the sports anchor cap during the 6:00 and 11:00 p.m. newscasts.
