Virginia Reporter and Cameraman killed during live spot

The staff of WDBJ-TV (7), the CBS affiliate in Roanoke, Virginia, are in mourning after one of their reporters and cameramen were killed by gunfire during a live news spot earlier this morning. 24-year -old Alison Parker was reporting to a camera operated by 27-year-old Adam Ward died when shots were fired. Both died at the scene. Police do not have a suspect or motive into the shooting which happened at Bridgewater Plaza in Moneta, Virginia.

The loss is being felt among colleagues in newsrooms around the country.
