The Wendy Bell Lawsuit: The race discrimination suit with Bell against WTAE-TV appears to have been settled although no terms were made public. The Post-Gazette reports the suit was dismissed with prejudice and cannot be filed again. The case was put on hold last summer awaiting Bell to file an amended complaint. Hearst fired Bell after she posted a commentary to her station Facebook profile regarding a mass shooting in Wilkinsburg. The station said the post didn’t meet the company’s journalistic standards.

Dave Crawley: The features reporter from KDKA-TV has been missing from the airwaves since late summer. Rob Owen reports that Crawley’s attorney released a statement this week that the reporter was severely injured performing a stunt with the Red Bull Flugtag during last summer’s Three Rivers Regatta. The stunt was part of a report for the TV station. A YouTube video shows Crawley landing in the river face first. He apparently suffered a ruptured spleen and other undisclosed injuries. There’s no estimate as to if or when Crawley could return to the airwaves.
