I went to check WSEE or WICU for the 11pm news since WJET was carrying a college football game that was no longer competitive and would be on until about 11:30. At 11pm, both WSEE and WICU was carrying special programs in regards to the digital TV transition. While the digital transition is very important, why was it necessary to carry it during the 11pm news slot? Why not carry it at 7pm or during the day when infomercials clutter the local airwaves. If both stations want to have a reputation for news, it’s important not to take part of the weekend off. This is why Jet has a solid reputation for news. At 11, I watched WFMJ from Youngstown and noticed that their news department (like most stations) does not take the weekend off.
