Wiggin leaving anchor desk to new assignment

WTAE-TV (4) anchor Sally Wiggin isn’t leaving the station, but the Post-Gazette reports that she is stepping away from the anchor desk to take on some new assignments. The 60-year-old ‘TAE veteran (she’s been there since 1980) will become the anchor host of the ongoing series, WTAE Chronicles. (One such program aired earlier this year devoted to the new papal regime.) Ms. Wiggin will continue to contribute to regular newscasts and still be a part of the station’s “Black and Gold Primetime” before Steelers games that air on Channel 4. Wiggin calls this a challenge for her mind in a way that reading the TelePrompTer no longer provides.
