WKTX expands Standards offerings

With the recent drop of Adult Standards on both WNIO and WSOM, it was unclear if anyone would pick up the format. Well according to PBRTV reader Anthony Belle, WKTX 830 in nearby Cortland has expanded the format. The daytimer had offered some standards in its mix of music with some ethnic offerings. It appears that the the locally owned station is now embracing the format since the other two stations have dropped it. This is good news despite only being on during daylight hours, however the station could apply for a 24 hour FM translator if it chooses to do so. There is currently no website for the station, but hopefully that will change as the audience builds and streaming can be added. Hopefully local businesses will support this station. Meanwhile, a station up in Buffalo, NY has just went online with their standards format. Go to www.swing1270.com/ for more details.
