WPXI-TV’s new facility – which overlooks the McKnight Road offramp of I-279 – will officially become the station’s new home in late summer according to the Post-Gazette. The first broadcast from the new studio will air at 6:30 PM following the annual MDA Labor Day Telethon which would be 9/3.

The new facility comes as a “50th Birthday Present” for the station which signed on the air as WIIC-TV on September 1, 1957.
