WTAE plays musical chairs… again
December 9, 2016Since Wendy Bell’s firing earlier this year, WTAE has had Shannon Perrine anchoring at 5:00 p.m. and Jackie Cain covering the 6:00 and 11:00 p.m. in addition to her 7:00 p.m. duties. This week, Cain has gone back to anchoring the 7:00 newscast (seen on the station’s sub channel) and reporting. Perrine added the noon news duties to her 5:00 shift and Janelle Hall has moved from the morning and noon duties to the 6:00 and 11:00 p.m. newscasts.
UPDATE: Since we first posted the report, it was noted that Perrine is also anchoring the 7:00 p.m. newscast on WTAE’s sub-channel. However, Cain is still listed as an anchor and reporter.
UPDATE TO THE UPDATE: Cain has been paired with Ryan Recker on weekend evenings.
Are you sure Jackie has 7;00? Shannon’s bio on the station website says, “She has anchored different newscasts at WTAE Channel 4 and currently anchors the 12:00 p.m. newscast and co-anchors the 5:00 p.m.weeknight newscasts with Andrew Stockey. Perrine also anchors the Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 newscast on thisTV Pittsburgh weeknights at 7:00 p.m.”
Okay… that got changed after I checked it out then.
