WWCS off air; WEDO increases oldies

February 1, 2011 Off By Eric O'Brien

WWCS-AM (540 Canonsburg) is off the air this morning, according to one of our extra set of ears out there. Since New Year’s Day, the station has been playing a looped reminder to find Radio Disney programming on 1250 AM. No word on when WWCS will be back up and running.

Monday’s McKeesport Daily News reported that WEDO-AM (810 McKeesport) would be increasing the amount of oldies programming beginning today. Big Ray Edwards is on the air from 9:00 a.m. – 12 Noon while Candy and Mike return to take over the 12 Noon – 3:00 p.m. slot. Sal Patitucci’s “Radio Italia” moves to 3:00 p.m. followed by two hours of Dr. Martin Gallagher. Now that WEDO broadcasts online, this daytime-only station is now effectively a full-time station with the complete schedule rerun after sign off.
