WWVA Towers destroyed in storm

WWVA-AM 1170 in Wheeling is off the air after severe weather in the form of a “downburst” knocked over the 3 tower array used to transmit the air signal. The tower site is located in St. Clairsville, Ohio. According to the WWVA website, the engineer crews are working to get a temporary facility built as soon as possible. WWVA’s programming is moving over to sister WBBD-AM (1400) as of 6:00 a.m. Thursday.
