WYTV DT seeks power increase

According to a report from our friends at Ohio Media Watch, Parkin Television filed an application back on June 20th and is seeking a power increase for WYTV’s digital signal on DT 36. The digital signal has been running at 50kw, which is far below the power output of both WFMJ DT 20 and WKBN DT 41. According to the FCC application, the power would jump to 1000kw, which would be the highest in Youngstown for a digital station. With limited time before the transition & winter weather coming in a few months, the equipment & tower upgrades would take place after the digital transition deadline. It would also cover my area a lot better than the station does now with the occasional picture break up. Predicted coverage area info is at http://www.fcc.gov/fcc-bin/FMTV-service-area?x=DT1251536.html or just search under TV Query at the FCC website.
