Jeff Roteman, expert of local top-40 stations of the past, and AllAccess announced the death of original 13Q (1320 WKTQ) morning host Bill Tanner this week. Tanner was at his home in Birmingham, Alabama at the time of his death. His stint in Pittsburgh was rather short, but he would work for Heftel Communications (the owner of 13Q) twice in between gigs elsewhere. Some of his stops included WASH-FM in Washington, DC, and two stations in Miami.

WTAE-TV (4) weekend anchor Brittany Hoke announced her departure from the station on Wednesday. Reading between the lines, it seems Hoke left after an uncomfortable situation she has been advised not to discuss. Here she is in her own words.
