Another retirement: WTAE’s Paul Van Osdol
March 23, 2026Paul Van Osdol, the award-winning investigative reporter at WTAE-TV (4) will retire at month’s end. His final day at the station will be Wednesday.

In a press release from the station Van Osdol says, “I’ve had the privilege of telling stories that mattered, working alongside incredibly talented journalists and serving a community that values strong local news. I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished together.”
Meanwhile, he tells Rob Owen that he began to think about retirement about a year ago and made the final decision recently. “I’ve been a reporter for 43 years and it felt like a good time to enjoy the rest of my life, try some new things. What exactly, I’m not sure. Van Osdol is 65 and his parents each died around that age which added to his thought process.
