April 12, 2016 Off By Eric O'Brien

Calkins Media is selling its TV properties in Florida and Alabama to Raycom Media and its duopoly partner American Spirit Media, LLC. Doing so will allow Calkins to strengthen its newspaper operations in the Philadelphia Metro, Southeast Florida and Western Pennsylvania markets. Locally Calkins owns the Beaver County Times and the Uniontown Herald-Standard. The stations affected by the move are WWSB Sarasota, WTXL Tallahassee which will go to Raycom, and WAAY Huntsville will go to American Spirit.
