Frey moves over to real estate interests

Former WTAE-TV morning news anchor Kelly Frey recently spoke to Pittsburgh Magazine about her new venture in life – real estate. After failing to come to a new agreement with the station in late 2021, Frey made the difficult decision to call it off. Additionally some new health issues (she’s a recent breast cancer survivor) have cropped up requiring some changes to her life that may have been difficult to maintain with the demanding TV schedule.

Frey and her husband, Jason Luhn, live near the famous overlook in Pittsburgh’s West End. Luhn recently retired from Air National Guard and has done much of the work on their house to accommodate their son, Bennett, who lives with Dandy-Walker Syndrome. Luhn had considered working as a pilot in the private sector, but the conversations he and Frey had lately led them to form Love Thy Neighbor Properties, LLC. Starting with their own neighborhood with a number of abandoned, dilapidated, and condemned properties, their goal is to rehabilitate and/or rebuild viable properties to rejuvenate the residential area to match the revitalization of the commercial region just below once known as Temperanceville.
