Harner named WPXI sports director; Cassesse full-time sports anchor

After several months without a sports director following Alby Oxenreiter’s departure, WPXI-TV has promoted and named Jenna Harner to the role. She started at the station as a sports reporter in 2020 just as the world was shutting down for the pandemic and is proud to call Pittsburgh home. She previously worked in Buffalo.

Similarly, Shelby Cassesse has been named full-time sports anchor and reporter after working as a freelancer for the station. Prior to WPXI, Cassesse worked for KDKA-AM/FM.

The pair will co-host a pregame special for baseball’s opening day on March 26. Harner will accompany the Pirates in New York while Cassesse remains in the studio.
