In Memoriam: Alan Boal

Alan Boal, seen on the set at WIIC-TV (now WPXI). Boal died Sunday at age 95.
Stanley Alan Boal died peacefully on Sunday surrounded by family. He had turned 95 in March. Boal was born in Rochester, Beaver County in 1930.
Mr. Boal had a very distinguished 50-year career in broadcasting which included stops at WDTV (KDKA-TV), WKBN-AM/FM/TV (Youngstown), KQV, WIIC-TV (WPXI), and WTAE-AM/TV. He also worked as the Latin American Bureau Chief for ABC in Miami, Florida. He held every elected officer position in the local SAG-AFTRA Chapter and spent 70 years as a Freemason.
Boal is survived by his wife Daysi, children, step-children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren
Update on the death of Mark Roberts

Last week’s announcement of the death of Raymond Pekich (AKA Mark Roberts) was unexpected. Pekich, who was 77, died suddenly last Wednesday. A viewing was held at Jobe Funeral Home in Monroeville on Tuesday. He is remembered for “going above and beyond for people he cared about”, as well as his work with the March of Dimes and SAG-AFTRA.
