Thursday morning on ABC’s Good Morning America, ESPN Sports Center anchor Jay Harris announced his battle with prostate cancer. Harris will have surgery next week and will be off the air for a month, but the prognosis is good. He has been with ESPN for 22 years prior to which he was a news anchor here in Pittsburgh at WPGH-TV (53) and at Sheridan Broadcasting-owned WAMO Radio.

Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) awarded both WPXI-TV (11) and WESA (90.5) an Edward R. Murrow Award for continuing coverage of last summer’s assassination attempt on Donald Trump in Butler County.
