KDKA news director to depart
August 6, 2025Sean Hoder has been the news director at KDKA-TV (2) since mid-2022, but will leave this month for a position as vice president and news director of sister station WUPA in Atlanta, GA.
Hoder’s accomplishments include the addition of Talk Pittsburgh at 3:00 p.m. and the 8:00 p.m. newscast on the renewed Channel 19 – WPKD (commonly known as KDKA+).
As Rob Owen points out, however, it appears that the 8:00 p.m. newscast has been reruns of KDKA’s 6:00 p.m. news which PBRTV has noticed is now introduced as “The Evening News”. Are there changes afoot?
