Newell leaving WPXI for WSB

She’s a “hometown girl”, but Michelle Newell, her broadcasting career has been a tale of working hard and maybe taking some uncommon steps to make it to where she is now. Newell has been with WPXI since 2017, but her last day is Friday. In November she will start at WPXI’s sister station and Apollo/Cox Media flagship, WSB Atlanta.

The New Pittsburgh Courier broke the news and tells her story including stepping out of the market to Columbus’ WSYX-TV where her career began to flourish.
