WDVE signage removed

File under the category of “It’s about time…”

The internet is going wild over the removal of the “102.5 WDVE” sign from the “flashcube” building (the largest of Green Tree’s Jacob Center) along the Parkway West. Though the station (and gradually it’s merged sister stations) operated from the building for a few decades, the sign came much later replacing one that was put up for Hoogovens some years ago when the company occupied space in the building. iHeartMedia moved their stations from Greentree to South Fayette in 2021.

Meanwhile, St. Barnabas Broadcasting’s WJAS (1320) still operates from Jacob Center, but now without “another station’s call letters on the building” to paraphrase WJAS morning host Darryl Grandy.
