ABC Radio goes to KDKA and others
May 23, 2026Now that CBS Radio News (or CBS News Radio depending on your age) is shut down for good, nearly 700 stations across the country had to find a new affiliate. For KDKA (1020; W261AX 100.1) and many of its Audacy sisters it means a switch to ABC. WISR (680; 107.5 W298CW Butler) has made the move to ABC as well. WDAD (1450; 100.3 W262CU Indiana) has gone to NBC. Long-time CBS affiliate WMBS (590; 101.1 W266DB Uniontown) has selected Fox.
Sadly, many of the CBS affiliates didn’t wait until after 11:00 p.m. Friday to transition to their new news sources making the jump a day or two in advance. Listeners and archivists had to scramble to find an online source to get their aircheck. WMBS was one of those affiliates who stayed to the bitter end and archived the broadcast here.

Its kind of a full circle moment for KDKA, as when NBC first launched back in 1926 KDKA affiliated with the NBC Blue Network, which eventually became ABC. I know they switched to the NBC Red Network before NBC had to divest the Blue Network, and was an NBC loyalist until KDKA-TV affiliated with CBS. Definitely a Back to the Future moment.
WMBS is airing Fox News.
WMBS 590 Uniontown went with FOX Radio News.
