Brenda Waters to retire

PBRTV hears that KDKA-TV anchor/reporter Brenda Waters will retire this week. Waters has worked at Channel 2 for over 30 years and worked at Channel 11 before that. More as we hear it.

    I’ve read other places CBS O&O’s were going through another round of cuts. Sounds like either she was offered and accepted a buyout or saw the writing on the wall and is getting while the getting is good.

      While I’m not going to speculate on it, the fact that CBS would be offering such buyouts is definitely possible. But I wouldn’t necessarily call it a “cut” as in the sense that the radio companies do it. 🙂

    It seems as though KDKA is trying to filter out the older reporters as several have retired in the last year (Ralph Iannotti, Bob Allen, Jon Burnett was weather but still was a tenured employee). On another note; it seems that Rick Dayton’s bio has vanished from the KDKA website as well!
