Cassesse stepping back from KDKA Radio
February 27, 2024For the last 10 years listeners to KDKA-AM (1020; W261AX 100.1) and KDKA-FM (93.7) have heard the voice of Shelby Cassesse either with the news or sports talk. More recently Ms. Cassesse has been seen on WPXI (11) where she is a freelance sports reporter. Yesterday, she announced this would be her final week at the KDKAs opting to follow her heart into sports journalism. While she admits the plunge is a bit scary, she is looking forward to writing as well as continuing her gig at Channel 11.
Wish you the best. Now with George Soros being the biggest shareholder of audacy inc. there will no doubt be changes at Kdka and other Audacy owned stations. Could be layoffs, more automation, and less free speech on the airwaves.

You likely won’t find anybody who has a lower opinion of Soros than I do, but I really doubt that is driving her decision.
