FCC shutdown likely
January 2, 2019As it relates to the now 10-day-old government shutdown, it appears the Federal Communications Commission will shut down midday Thursday. Employees will then have 4 hours to wind it up until this shutdown is over. Of the 1442 FCC employees, only 245 essential employees will remain for “work required for the protection of life and property.” Consumer hotlines, licensing services, and new technology approvals will cease operation.
It will be a golden age for pirate radio.
