Guidotti to retire; DiFabio dies

KDKA-TV reporter Ross Guidotti has announced his retirement after 25 years at the station as a reporter. On July 31, the veteran reporter posted, “Today marks my 25th anniversary as a reporter for KDKA-TV. Time to say goodbye. Last Day/Sept 18.”

We are also getting word tonight that local sports broadcasting legend Bill DiFabio has passed. Primarily based in Washington County, DiFabio was the president of Sportscall – the largest independent radio network in the US serving 60 radio stations over 5 states. The company covered all three of Pittsburgh’s major teams, MLB and NFL. He studied Communications at Boston University having interned for the Boston Red Sox and New England Whalers, working the overnight desk at the Boston Globe and producer at WBZ Radio. Back in Pittsburgh, DiFabio was sports director at WEEP (1080) and WDSY (107.9) and hosted shows on radio, TV, and wrote a column for the Washington Observer-Reporter. Sportscall helped DiFabio cover many national level sporting events. He was also a Public Address Announcer for many Pittsburgh area and Boston area teams.
